Can you overcharge a cell phone?
I usually put my phone on the charger when I’m at home and I’m not using it so it’ll always be charged in case of an emergency. My friend told me that if you over charge them it could hurt them in some way. I thought once they were done charging it stopped charging.
Anyone know about this?
Cell phones cost too much for me to be damaging mine.
The phone itself will not be damaged. Once the charge is completed it will stop charging the phone. It can damage the battery though. If your phone is only half way down on the battery and you plug it in, the phone retains that memory. Once in a while it really doesn’t matter but if you are constantly charging your phone every day when the battery isn’t in real need of it, eventually the battery will go bad. It may even get to the point where it won’t charge at all for you anymore.
The general rule of thumb is to let your phone die completely about once a month to keep the battery fresh. What I would recommend though, is not charging your phone every day. Let the battery wear down. Buy a car charger so that you can charge it while driving if it needs to be.
This will save you from buying a new battery every 9-12 months. New battery’s usually cost around $50.

The battery forms a memory at the point where you first plug in the charger. It tends to only charge to that point. Over time, this point gets lower and lower until the battery no longer holds a charge. Not allowing the battery to go dead is worse than keeping in on a charger.

well the only thing that i no about over charging a cell is when u put it on the charger before it goes completely dead. if u do that too much then it will burn up the battery and the battery will start to go dead faster than it normally would. as for it being on the charger after it has been fully charged that should not hurt it too much!

no, you can not. The cell phone will stop receiving electricity after the battery’s been fully charged.

Hopefully someone can help….. I have windows 7 x64 with an Asus P5K motherboard. I have cable internet coming into a Motorola SB4200 modem connected to a Netgear WNR834B router. About a week or so ago my internet connection started to slow down. I did the usual, tried everything including rolling back the drivers for my NIC. The I purchased a new NIC thinking that the Asus/Atheros drivers we dodgy – same problems. If I start to download a file and then close IE the download terminates as well – this never used to happen. If I click a video link the download of the file is, most of the time, incomplete and the clip plays only a few seconds. I have tried to connect the modem directly to the PC – the network is not rcognised. I have connected the modem directly to my W-XP laptop – it’s fine. Speed test shows my PC, before is slows down, downloading at about 750 KB/S – my laptop downloads at closer to 2,000 KB/S Any suggestions will be appreciated

Heya¡my very first comment on your site. ,I have been reading your blog for a while and thought I would completely pop in and drop a friendly note. . It is great stuff indeed. I also wanted to ask..is there a way to subscribe to your site via email?
June 24th, 2010 at 8:47 am
I have not made a way to subsribe to my site through email because most of the email hosting companies like yahoo and gmail filter a lot of emails and the ydo not deliver them or put them in your spam folder which you would not normally see when checking your email.
The best way to get to my website blogs which is even beter than email is by subsribing to my rss feed. That way you can get information about my blogs directly on your desktop without worrying about email.
I hope this helps.
